Michael Rollins – Sempai

Instructor for
Northwest Budokan
Master Kise’s Pacific Northwest Dojo.
Michael's
first exposure to karate was a poster at the Mukilteo YMCA that advertised a
self-defense class. He suggested to his son Mitchel, who was 16 at the time, to
take the class so he decided that he would enroll and Melissa, who was 13,
decided to tag along. The kids were having so much fun that soon Dad decided to
join in. A while later his wife Joy was missing out so she also joined the class
making this truly a family affair. The next few years were spent under the
instruction of Sensei Jay Gravelle learning all they could until everyone had
progressed to 1st kyu and Joy was close behind at 2nd kyu.
A opportunity
opened up where the family could make a new home in beautiful cache valley in
the mountains of northern Utah. Michael is now employed at the Space Dynamic
Laboratory at Utah State University where he is a Senior Engineer and enjoys
being with his family.
Michael and
the family have opened the new Cache Valley Budokan at the local Sports Academy
to continue to study and learn Karate with a focus on self defense. The Cache
Valley Budokan is part of the NorthWest Budokan and the OSMKKF.Contact Information:
