Bernadette – Sensei Sandan
Instructor for
Northwest Budokan - Lil' Dragons
Master Kise’s Pacific Northwest Dojo.
Bernadette
first started karate in 1998 at Master Kise's Chandler Dojo in Arizona and has
always been a member of the OSMKKF. After moving to the Northwest she continued
her training and was promoted to her current rank of Sandan in 2009.
Bernadette has traveled to Okinawa to visit Master Kise several times.
Bernadette
has assisted the YMCA's Youth Karate classes in Mukilteo, WA since the started
in the fall of 2003. Her specialty is helping the kids that need extra attention
and has seen a real need for the Lil' Dragons program and has spearheaded it at
the Mukilteo, Mill Creek and Everett YMCAs. Demand for the initial class was so strong she had to
increase the Lil' Dragons to 2 classes before it even started! She now has 5
Lil' Dragons classes with over 75 students.
Bernadette
is an accomplished artist and her hobbies include Bird Watching,
Logging
Birds, Gardening, Learning Japanese and Decorative Painting. Member of Seattle
Audubon Society.
